Software Engineer & Problem Solver

If you like helping end users reboot their machines, stop reading and go play Angry Birds. If you get a buzz when you make somebody’s life easier with a sweet little script, keep reading.

Our cool technologies are changing the economics of the training industry. We are automating people processes and our customers love it.

We code from scratch so we will want to see your GitHub account to make sure that you know what you are doing. If your code is crappy you will be banned. We need to see that you know how to play with #(sharp)/.net, Python, PostgreSQL, Javascript and CSS (and of course HTML and PHP).

Did Python jump off the page and make you do a fist pump? Like us, you know that it is a really great language. We use it *a lot*. What about Pyramid? Have you ever used it?

Don’t waste our time and we won’t waste yours. You can work and live in rural Pictou County if you want but we don’t care where you work if you can do your job. We don’t even care if you want to toe-in with a couple of small projects. There are problems of doing and problems of solving. We tackle both. Are you worthy?

If you do NOT know what Communication Arts is… please do not apply. If you like Comic Sans… please keep looking for another job. Think an ad should have lots of fonts for variety… then there is definitely NOT a career waiting for you at Velsoft.

If you do NOT have a favorite PSD action you may NOT be the right person we’re looking for. Because we are looking for a Creative; someone who would rather pay for a font than that special birthday gift. Someone who eats and drinks weird shit just because they like the packaging… Wow! We would love to talk to that person.

If all your tables at home are screwed up from X-ACTO knives but this is OK because you get to go to IKEA then we would be interested in you sending us your resume. We have some very cool projects that require someone to invent something out of nothing. Our awesome customers are all over the world and we truly want to blow them away with design.

If you have a solid knowledge of the design industry, have a great sense of layout, balance and how to display information, maintain a broad knowledge of current design trends and can talk strategy, branding, budgets and corporate-speak we encourage you to connect to us.

We want you to sit back someday and say “see that Velsoft piece…I made that”. Then you can take your pay cheque and go to the Apple Store or a nice restaurant with a great menu design.
