Velsoft Training Materials aims to touch every single learner on the planet and the local business community took note of that global reach recently.
Velsoft won the Pictou County Chamber of Commerce Export Recognition of the Year Award at the Chamber’s annual awards ceremony. This prestigious award is sponsored by Nova Scotia Business Inc.
The company started small in 1998 and has grown to include clients around the globe such as Microsoft, NASA, the United States Air Force, Dell Computers, Lockheed Martin, and the Executive Office of the President of the United States.
Velsoft provides both instructor-led training materials, online courses and custom courses to customers at home and abroad. Their courses are taught in more than 150 countries world-wide.
Company president Jim Fitt said Velsoft is thriving in the information age.
“We are very good example of the knowledge economy,” he said. “We use technology to work together,” he said. “It really doesn’t matter that we’re in downtown New Glasgow. We could be in Halifax or New York.”
